While I'm pretty good at maintaining and growing relationships with my existing clients, I am AWFUL at getting conversations with decision-makers at companies that I KNOW could benefit from partnership with me. How do I connect?

Great question - relationship building is not the easiest, despite what people may think. I find that the most important aspect is to build a relationship first based on trust, not on selling. I'm a big believer that when you have a genuine relationship with someone that when they have the opportunity to give you work, they will. Find out more about each of the decision-makers - where do they spend time? Do they have kids? What publications or websites do they regularly read? How can you help their business now - without expecting anything in return? If the relationship naturally builds, over time you will be the first person they think of when they have a need.
